Rising stress levels is commonly attributed to increased risk of lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension and heart ailments. Uncontrolled stress can lead to hypertension and CV complications. Healthy eating, plenty of exercise and ways to relax is recommneded for living healthier lives but managing stress should be made an important part of daily life.
This World Heart Day, we partnered with Wockhardt Hospital and Animal Angels Foundation to create a campaign which was not only fun but also well received by people of all ages. ‘Jadu Ki Jhappi’ which means the magical hug, was our positive step towards creating a happy and stress-free, healthy life.
Dog is known as man’s best friend….but today the dog is proven to be even heart’s best friend. Studies have shown that people who have pets at home tend to have lower blood pressure, heart rate and heart-disease risk than those who don’t.
We took help from Pepe, a Golden Retriever, who is a trained therapy dog and organized the campaign at Wockhardt Hospital.
The moment Pepe walked into the hospital waiting area, the scene just transformed. Faces smiled, people overjoyed, and the atmosphere smelt less of disinfectants and more of joy! Pepe was an instant hit. 70 year old Mishraji had the same twinkle in his eyes as 7 year old Sunny. Even the hospital staff could not stay away from giving a ‘Jadu Ki Jhappi’ to Pepe.
It just showed how we need our own Pepe to bring cheer into our lives. It may be a pet, a song, a movie, a friend or just a jump in the puddle or a run in the rain… let’s open our doors and hearts to our Pepe.
The overwhelming response of the visitors and the out-patients exceeded our expectations, making ‘Jadu Ki Jhappi’ a huge success!
